About the role
You’ll work closely with our Head of Acquisition & Retention to lead ZAVA’s paid media strategy and execution across multiple European markets. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on performance expertise and will suit someone who loves balancing big-picture planning with precision campaign management.
You’ll lead and develop a talented team of two supporting PPC, Paid Social, Display, Video, and emerging media; driving performance, creative innovation, and efficiency at scale. This is your chance to shape how millions discover and experience digital healthcare!
This position is ideal for a Paid Media Lead or Head of Paid Media with experience working in regulated or restricted, high-growth scale-up environments, and combines a high level of hands-on six-figure PPC management experience with proven success managing Paid Social budgets.
Key Accountabilities
- Own the Paid Media Strategy: Lead and evolve our multi-market paid media strategy across all brands and regions (UK, DE, FR, ES, Partner Accounts).
- Lead & Develop the Team: Manage, mentor, and grow a small, high-performing team, building scalable playbooks and best practices.
- Optimise Channel Performance: Oversee PPC and Paid Social performance while testing and expanding into new channels such as Display, Video, Spotify, CTV/VOD, and beyond.
- Ensure Governance & Compliance: Navigate healthcare advertising restrictions across platforms and regions with confidence and precision.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with data, SEO, and CRM teams to strengthen attribution, audience strategies, and funnel efficiency.
- Innovate & Scale: Champion a test-and-learn mindset to unlock growth, optimise CAC/LTV, and push creative and technical boundaries.
Technical skills & experience
- Demonstrable hands-on PPC experience, ideally in a regulated or restricted industry (healthcare, tech, gambling, finance, etc.)
- Proven leadership managing Paid Media or Acquisition Specialists in multi-market, performance-driven environments
- Agency management experience, particularly across Paid Social
- Strong understanding of CAC, LTV, attribution models, and the levers to improve them
- Experience working in UK and wider European markets
Nice to have, but not at all essential
- Experience in Display, Video, Spotify, CTV/VOD
- Fluency in another European language is a plus (Not at all essential)
