About the role:
The digital healthcare market is a very exciting and competitive space that has seen considerable growth over the last few years.
We are looking for an IT Systems Engineer to help maintain and secure the systems and networks on which ZAVA operates. You will be passionate about automation, have experience with scripting and interacting with SaaS products and public cloud services (particularly AWS). More importantly, you will be passionate about the people who use those systems/services and put them at the forefront of decision making.
Key tasks:
On a day-to-day basis you will work with the wider IT Operations Team to assist with daily tasks, build API integrations between our SaaS systems, review and sort IT-related questions that arise in the course of daily work; and build and maintain cross-functional relationships with other teams to best turn ideas into reality.
You will maintain and administer all infrastructure required for the day-to-day function of our offices and remote users. This will include OS management and security patching, developing and maintaining documentation, and providing general business support.
We're looking for a logical and calm troubleshooter with the ability to communicate clearly to a non-technical audience, engineers who embrace the DevOps culture to deliver continuous improvements to our infrastructure
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring all systems are patched, configured and monitored to ensure optimum security, performance and functionality are maintained.
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, offering solutions where possible and escalating where required.
- Ensure change management is adhered to and all changes validated, checked and documented, including the planning and implementation of updates.
- Ensure a Keep it Simple approach is maintained.
- Ensuring all documentation is kept up to date as changes are introduced or where documentation is missing.
- Maintaining security tools - AV, working with policies.
- Implement and maintain automation tools.
- Participate in the IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plan.
- Proactively monitor systems for availability, capacity and performance.
- Ensuring the integrity and security of enterprise data on host computers, multiple databases, and during data transfer in accordance to business needs and industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
- Researching and preparing notes, status reports, technical documentation, and proposals to be used by various technical and non-technical staff and management.
- Communicating/ exchanging technical information on IT administration, and troubleshooting techniques and skills to staff. May be required to make presentations during annual meetings and other technical gatherings.
- Working collaboratively with the various service teams and providing input into team communication (including meetings) as well as joint planning sessions on hardware and software roll-out.
- Improve systems and tools to support the operations of our internal systems
Technical Skills:
- Experience with automation & scripting.
- The ability to design and implement auditing workflows.
- A penchant for automating repetitive tasks the flexibility to adapt to a tech stack that evolves as we scale up our operation.
- Developing applications for a Cloud environment (we use AWS and GCP).
- Bash Scripting
- Experience with JAMF Pro, Google Workspace, IDP SSO administration (OneLogin/Okta), OS Troubleshooting - macOS, Windows, Linux
- Jira Work Management
